My sister's mother-in-law mentioned the breed to us at Christmas Eve a few years ago. We had no idea what a Mal was, but she said her friend was having a litter and that if we were interested in a puppy to let her know. We looked up the breed and thought they were pretty dogs and would work well to watch our house and be a good family pet. We had first pick on a female in the litter when they were born. We first met the pups at 2 weeks old; we planned to take the one with the red collar... but kept going back to the one in the pink collar. When they were 8 weeks old, we finally got to pick one and bring her home. We kept talking about the red collared one, but when we got there, the pink one was still the one we liked best. Naturally we picked the pink one and Sophie has been the best dog we could have picked. She has been attached to us both since day one and never even cried her first night in our home. She has been spoiled and loved ever since.
The trainers are all VERY nice and Sophie loves working with them. Their technique for training is very simple and keeps the dogs health and well being in mind. Everything that we have learned is valuable and actually works. We couldn't be happier with the results that we are seeing.
